I rate the impact of this book 3 out of 5 on me. Much of it reinforced what I already knew, but there were new things in it, and it was a fun read on our food culture.
Why I read food and nutrition books
I read food culture and culinary books to understand nutrition, past versus present science, and how habits changed. That context matters when I explain why I have optimized my diet in a certain way, or when I need to explain the context for other people’s choices and what is commonly said versus what might actually be healthy.
This book
I enjoy Bee Wilson’s books. This one was a fun read on our food culture and I appreciated the findings - it's been a while so I've forgotten specifics.
