Protecting My Writing Habit While In High-Growth AI Role
I’m changing pace in blogs on my website and Substack.
I spent 10 minutes writing this. You need a minute to read this.

After joining a high-growth startup with significant responsibility and steep learning demands, I reduced my daily writing time from 30 minutes to 2 minutes. I made this change to protect the habit of clarifying my thoughts while limiting the time it required.
This shift freed up time to go deeper into the AI space. I now spend more energy building AI products and designing agentic workflows. Working with and building with AI is energizing!
Over the past several weeks, I have used those 2 minutes each night to record how my day unfolded. I write about the pressure, uncertainty, and the excitement. My goal is to turn these notes into a blog that captures the highs and lows of ramping up in a startup.
But because most days I'm either taking notes or spending only 2 mins writing, the number of blogs I publish has gone down drastically.
Fewer posts is the cost of staying close to the work. I am choosing depth over cadence for this phase.
For now, I will publish less frequently, but when I do, it will be raw, short, and close to the work. Longer reflections will come later.
